Units geolocation
We're all familiar with Units geolocation devices for locating people when sailing around the world, enabling family and friends to follow you. Or for lone workers to ensure their Tracking even in the most remote locations. Or to track land or sea animals for research purposes, for example. Other applications are possible, with the right equipment.
New generation of Units
Let's focus today on a new generation of Units : the Units GSM-LTE-M from BeWhere, a company specializing in theIoT (Mobile Internet of Things).
These Units devices have the advantage of operating on the low-power 5G GSM network, with long battery life, in a very compact design. This opens up a wide range of uses, not just for people, but also for objects.
Three Units products have been developed to meet different needs:
- BeMini is the smallest (1/4 the size of conventional trackers) and lightest of the Units range, enabling the tracking of very small items both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to its temperature and light sensors, it provides valuable information that can be enhanced with additional Tracking modules. On-board humidity, pressure or accelerometer sensors are also conceivable. Rechargeable with mini-USB included.
- BeTen is a long-life beacon for end-to-end asset tracking. Depending on update speed, temperature, power requirements and cellular technology performance, its battery will last between 5 and 6 years. It can also be integrated via an API (application programming interface) with third-party software to increase data and functionality exchange possibilities. Highly resistant to extreme conditions, it will be the best ally for tracking, monitoring and managing a wide variety of durable and perishable goods.
- BeSol is based on the same technologies as its little sisters, with the difference that it is equipped with a solar-powered rechargeable battery. So it's long-lasting and robust.
Cost, deployment and coverage
These Units geolocation systems also have the advantage of being very affordable and easy to deploy. Above all, they ensure complete coverage of inland and isolated areas. In fact, they use several GNSS (Global Navigation System Satellites) satellite positioning systems (GPS, Galileo, Beidou, Glonass and QZSS) to precisely Tracking individuals or goods.
