The history of Advanced Tracking

Introducing Advanced Tracking and its creator.

The creation of Advanced Tracking could be described as logical and natural.

Indeed, when you consider the background of its creator, Christophe ALLAN, the relationship between cause and effect is obvious.

So let's meet Christophe in a few dates:

  • After growing up in Belgium and studying automotive engineering, Christophe left to do his military service in France in 1985. His passion for boating was already present, as his vacations were always punctuated by seaside camps with the Scoots de mer.

  • In 1988, he started out as a car salesman in France, before becoming Sales Manager for a new car dealership in Belgium in 1992.

  • In 1995, Christophe set off around the world, alone, with his backpack, for 2 years, including a full year in Australia. He discovered the United States, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, New Zealand... And his taste for adventure didn't stop there!

  • In 1997, after a 6-month stopover in England to take his maritime school diploma, Christophe bought a catamaran and set off alone for a good year. He sailed along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, ending up in Corsica, where he launched himself as a professional skipper.

  • At the end of 1998, Christophe set up his own delivery company, Advanced Yachting, in Hyères, with a partner. He proposed to professionals to set up geolocation systems so that they could track their boats during delivery, with the idea that one day, all boats would be equipped. And it's not just professionals who are attracted by the idea!

  • In 2004, after having carried out a number of boat transfers, Christophe turned his attention to geolocation, launching Advanced Tracking. He supplies Units to boat rental companies and private individuals alike.

As a result, Advanced Tracking has established itself as a benchmark in geolocation and satellite communication.

  • In 2008, the company developed its own "Konectis" platform, opening up to other applications. Geolocation is essential to the boating industry, but not only! It also applies to travelers in areas not covered by GSM or to isolated workers. Christophe has surrounded himself with investors who believe in his project to develop the business.

  • In 2012, Peggy Allan joined Christophe as a partner, and the company continued to grow with the integration of several Units systems. Advanced Tracking surrounds itself with the best technologies (partnerships with Inmarsat - Iridium and Globalstar) to offer ever more effective satellite communication solutions.
The company is setting up partnerships, in particular with GEOS Alliance, to ensure rescue anywhere in the world, as soon as a beacon's distress button is pressed.

  • In 2016, technologies are evolving, as are satellite networks and communication systems. As a result, Advanced Tracking's offering is expanding, as is its team, with the arrival of a new partner, Gaëtan PANCERA.

  • Today, Advanced Tracking has a staff of 5, including three IT developers, and will soon be launching its own beacon. It will be based on Galileo technology.

As Christophe explains: "Advanced Tracking has developed gradually, always with a long-term objective in mind. We set up partnerships to last, to always be at the cutting edge of technology, as we did recently with Kinéis, while maintaining a direct link with our customers. A commitment is a commitment, and we're here to respect it and ensure the safety and satisfaction of our users."
