How does Iridium GO work?
TheIridium GO connects to the Iridium network, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world, including the North and South Poles. Once positioned outdoors and the antenna deployed, the Iridium GO will start operating. It creates a wifi network to which you connect from your smartphone or tablet (iOS Android).
Make sure to maintain the battery charge so that the device is ready for use when needed. Make sure the antenna is pointing upwards, with a clear view of the sky. Make sure your phone is within a range of around 30 meters from the WiFi network, and is in airplane mode.
You can connect up to 5 different systems at once. Once you've done that, you'll be able to send e-mails, communicate by voice and send text messages. You'll also be able to update your Facebook account or access weather and weather information. A whole range of voice and data services are linked to the Iridium GO, and will be indispensable on your travels.
